The Botox Procedure: Simple, Safe, and Effective

Botox treatments are straightforward, taking only 10-15 minutes with no downtime—perfect for a quick visit over a lunch break, even if you're coming from nearby areas like Mission Valley or Point Loma. Our expert injector at SlimmThicc Med Spa & Aesthetics will first disinfect the treatment area. You will be asked to make various facial expressions, like frowning or squinting, to identify the best sites for injection. Then, using a very fine micro-needle, your provider will administer small, precise injections. Most of our patients report experiencing no pain during their Botox injections.

The widespread use of Botox as an anti-aging solution underscores the importance of the provider's expertise in achieving optimal results. Our injectors are mentored by expert plastic surgeons and undergo extensive training by the manufacturers of the products they use. This ensures that you receive the best possible outcome from your treatment. If surgery is necessary for certain conditions, we can refer you to a plastic surgeon, unlike clinics without this option, where more injectables might be recommended without the desired results.

Is Botox Right for You?

While Botox is an excellent treatment, it's not suitable for everyone. It primarily addresses issues in the upper face and does not correct sagging or volume loss, for which we use fillers. Every treatment plan is 100% customized—no two faces are alike, and neither are their treatment needs.

Who Should Avoid Botox?

You should not undergo Botox treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, allergic to onabotulinum toxin A or any other Botox ingredients, or allergic to lidocaine. Additionally, if you have had an allergic reaction to Dysport, you are likely also allergic to Botox. Certain facial conditions such as ptosis (drooping upper eyelid), ectropion (lower eyelid drooping away from the eye), entropion (inward turning lower eyelid), deep facial scars, thick facial skin, infections at the injection site, or weak muscles in the treatment area may also preclude Botox treatment.

Results, Maintenance, and Pricing of Botox

You can expect to see the initial results of your Botox treatment within 3-5 days, with full effects visible within 14 days. We always schedule a follow-up appointment at the two-week mark to assess how the dosage has settled and make any necessary adjustments.

The effects of Botox typically last 3 to 4 months. We recommend repeating the treatment every 3 months to maintain your results, but longer intervals between treatments are also acceptable. You can discontinue Botox at any time, and the treated area will gradually return to its pre-treatment appearance.

While there is no downtime with Botox, some patients may experience minor redness or a tiny bruise at the injection site. These issues are generally minimal, can be easily concealed with makeup, and typically resolve quickly.
